Jennie was born on October 24th, 1993 in Shenzhen, China. In 1998, her mom took her to join her dad who moved to Vancouver, BC, Canada one year earlier. In 2000, the family moved to Irvine, CA. In 6th grade, she believed in the Lord and was saved. She studied primary and secondary education in Irvine, San Diego, and Aliso Viejo. She received a bachelor's degree in Arts Management and minored in Apparel Merchandising in 2015. Then, she started her first full-time job in Austin, TX after graduation. In 2022, she moved to Denver, CO with her partner, joined a company as a marketing manager.
Jennie was a bright, free-spirited, and strong person who brought joy to so many people in her life. She holds such a special place in all our hearts as she moved us with her unique personality. Jennie taught her friends and family how to not be afraid to try new things, meet strangers, and challenge our beliefs. She blossomed over the years with her tenacity and ambition to travel the world, raise her two lovely cats (Tuxie and Tito), and grow her artistic talents. Throughout her life, she tried many different hobbies—piano, hiking, fashion, paddleboarding, cooking, horticulture, yoga, weightlifting, krav maga, traveling, thrifting, drawing, painting, and building an online jewelry store called “Naut Another”—as she always sought to learn new skills and different cultures. In her 29 years, she never stopped growing and lived each day to the fullest. Her vibrant and beautiful character touched all of our souls and we will continue to carry her spirit throughout our days.
Jennie also had a determined vision and mission. When she searched for jobs, she did not focus on the pay but on the company’s vision and mission. She would embrace jobs that would benefit society and the environment. In 2017, she started working at Care2Rock, an online music platform that mentors kids in foster care. Starting as a small company, Jennie helped provide an easy, affordable way to learn music from anywhere, create its online platform, hired 100+ musical teachers, and ran multiple marketing strategies. Now, the company has delivered 10,000+ lessons to children in foster care.
Jennie loved connecting with people and animals. She always made time to help her friends when they needed her, even when that meant neglecting her own needs. Her ability to tune into other’s emotions inspired her to become a psychologist.
Artistically, her ability for self expression was in a class of its own. Receiving compliments for her creative outfits was a regular occurrence. Across creative disciplines Jennie had a special intuition for harmonizing chaotic elements. Likewise, she held a deep respect and awe for the beauty of the natural world and took responsibility for cleaning up trash she would find on her adventures.
In May 2023, she and her partner traveled to Switzerland. On May 8th, they went hiking in Interlaken, but an accident happened when they were on the top of the hiking trail. She left the world to be with the Lord at the age of 29 years old.
